Mixed fortunes for Camperdown

CAMPERDOWN HIGH School had mixed fortunes in the latest round of the ISSA Urban Schoolboy Basketball Competition on Monday as their under-19 team got by Kingston College while their under-16s suffered defeat.

Heri Leconte continued his good all-round form for Camperdown as he scored 24 points and had 21 assists to help his under-19 team to a 66-45 win over their North Street rivals.

Earlier, Kingston College drew first blood as their under-16s got the better of Camperdown, winning 63-28. Terence Mitchell, with 25 points, was top scorer for Kingston College while Akani Blake, with 13 points, 13 rebounds, was the top man for the losers.

There were also wins for St Andrew Technical High School and Ardenne in under-19 games. STATHS had a close 43-42 win over Yallahs High while Ardenne were too good for Vauxhall, dismissing them 82-32.

Ibrahim Baxter, with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 20 steals, along with Mohan Bonnick, with 20 points, 22 rebounds, one block, and 10 assists, were the top performers for the winners.
