Gaynstead High and Jose Marti High will meet tomorrow at the Leila Robinson Courts in the final of the Insports Challenge Netball Cup after scoring contrasting victories in their semi-final matches on Friday.
In the opening semi-final, Gaynstead edged Denbigh High 34-32 in a closely contested encounter, while Jose Marti brushed aside Norman Manley High 44-16 in a one-sided affair.
The first game was competitive from the start, with Gaynstead holding a narrow 6-5 lead at the end of the first quarter before extending their advantage to 16-11 at half-time.
Denbigh found their rhythm after the restart and outscored their opponents 11-9 in the third quarter, but Gaynstead still held a 25-22 lead heading into the final period.
The last quarter was just as tight, with Denbigh winning it 10-9, but it was not enough as the Dalton Hinds-coached Gaynstead team held on for a hard-fought two-goal victory.
In the second semi-final, the Phillip Pinnock-coached Jose Marti outfit barely broke a sweat against Norman Manley, dominating from start to finish. Jose Marti raced to an 8-3 first-quarter lead and maintained their advantage at half-time, 16-11.
They completely took control in the second half, surging to a 31-12 lead at the end of the third quarter before cruising to a commanding 44-16 victory.
Both winners will clash at 5 p.m. for the championship title, with the winners receiving $400,000 and the runners-up $250,000.
The match will be a repeat of the 2025 ISSA Urban Area Senior final, where Gaynstead defeated Jose Marti 48-44 in overtime after both teams were tied 39-39 at the end of regulation.
Denbigh and Norman Manley will meet in the third-place play-off at 4 p.m.
