Reigning Jamaica Premier League (JPL) champions Portmore United and this year’s runners-up Cavalier have learned the dates and venues for their group stage games at the 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup.
Portmore and Cavalier both qualified for the Caribbean Cup by virtue of their placements in the recently concluded JPL campaign.
The two Jamaican clubs have been drawn in Group B of the competition alongside perennial title contenders Cibao FC of the Dominican Republic and the reigning Dominican Republic champions Salcedo FC.
The group will be completed by the winners of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Shield tournament.
Portmore will be the first Jamaican team in action in the Caribbean Cup when they open their campaign against Salcedo at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago on August 4.
Cavalier will get into action the following day on August 5 when they travel to the Cibao Stadium to face Cibao.
Cavalier will return to action on August 20 when they play hosts to Salcedo at the National Stadium in their first home game.
Match week three of the Caribbean Cup will be an all-Jamaica affair as Portmore and Cavalier will face off at the National Stadium on September 3 before the Jamaican champions take on the CFU Shield champions on September 9.
The final match week will see Portmore taking on Cibao at the Cibao Stadium while Cavalier will travel to face the CFU Shield champions.
Both games will be played on September 17.
The top two teams from the group will advance to the Caribbean Cup semi-finals where they will play for the regional title as well as a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.
The two finalists, as well as the third-place team, will qualify for the Champions Cup, with the Caribbean Cup champions receiving a bye to the Round of 16.
The last two editions of the Caribbean Cup have been won by a Jamaican team, with Mount Pleasant taking the title in 2025 and Cavalier emerging victors in 2024.
Cavalier were also runners-up in 2023, falling in the final to Surinamese club SV Robinhood.
Mount Pleasant will have a chance to qualify for the Caribbean Cup as they will compete in the CFU Club Shield tournament.
The Club Shield champions will be placed in Group B of the Caribbean Cup while the Club Shield runners-up will be placed in Group A.
