Neita appointed CEO of Global Directories
Ian Neita, who joined Global Directories in June this year as its business development director overseeing 12 of the company's regional markets, has been promoted to the top job as chief executive officer of the regional operation.
Neita joined Global Directories - the company that owns the Yellow Pages - after leaving ATL Group at the end of May. He was ATL Group's assistant deputy chairman at departure.
His job as CEO of Global Directories puts him in charge of 16 markets, "champion the development of new products and services to better serve the new demands of businesses", said company spokesperson Tshani Jaja, in confirmation of Neita's appointment, which took effect on Wednesday, October 21.
Neita replaces Mark Macfee, who was recently appointed president of Global Directories.
The company is considered to be the largest local search provider and directory publisher in the Caribbean.
Owned by Bermuda-incorporated MediaHouse Limited, Global Directories partners with telecommunications companies and other business establishments to produce print, online and mobile directories.
Neita will be responsible for Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Cayman Islands, Belize, Aruba, St Vincent & the Grenadines, St Kitts-Nevis, St Lucia, Anguilla, Bonaire, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, Turks & Caicos Islands, Grenada and Martinique.
Global Directories is better known locally as the owner of the Jamaica Yellow Pages. The company discloses on its website that it has 17 print telephone directories with 1.6 million print circulation in over 16 countries, as well as 16 online directory sites.
