Johnny Depp sells fourth penthouse for US$1.82 million

Johnny Depp has sold the fourth of his five penthouses for $1.82 million.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star listed the quintet for a combined $12.78 million and he now has just one left to offload after letting the latest of his homes go, a three-bedroom condo in downtown Los Angeles.

All five of the abodes are in the Eastern Columbia Building in LA and, according to the Los Angeles Times, Depp's latest sale features beautiful views out to the city and mountains, thanks to the pad's extra-large windows.

If he hadn't had enough of water while shooting the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, the actor could have used his apartment's saltwater pool, which is situated on a sky deck.

What's more, the penthouse boasts a spa and fitness area, ideal for keeping in shape and then relaxing in between hectic filming schedules.

Depp has one more of his five abodes up for sale and that is on the market for a slightly cheaper price of $1.79 million.

The Sweeney Todd star started selling some houses following his split from Amber Heard last year.

He offloaded two of his homes in October and November 2016, making more than $5.5 million after selling for $2.54 million and $3.09 million, respectively.

US$52.8 million mortgage for Jay-Z and Beyonce's new home

Jay-Z and Beyonce have a $52.8-million mortgage on their new $88-million home.

The showbiz power couple - who are worth more than $1 billion between them - are forking out the huge sum on their new Bel-Air mansion, which comes complete with four outdoor swimming pools and a wellness centre.

According to the Los Angeles Times, if the pair's mortgage had an interest rate of four per cent, they would be paying more than $252,000 per month for the plush pad over the next 30 years.

If the couple ever need their own space, they should find some in the 30,000 square feet of living space, or they might like to treat themselves to a relaxing session in their spa after a tough day recording songs.

Jay, 47, is well known to be a big fan of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team, and he has enough space to invite them to Los Angeles for a game as his house boasts a full-size court.

There is also a media room which could be ideal for promoting their latest ventures to help pay for their mortgage, and a separate staff quarter.

The pair's property purchase comes just a few months after they were said to be struggling to find a new family home, despite boasting a budget of around $75 million.

Beyonce, 35, and rapper Jay - who have daughter Blue, five, and two-month-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter - were said to have been outpriced on abodes they took a fancy to which were going for double their house fund.
