See it, snap it, share it! ...The Gleaner launches ‘myReport’
The Gleaner today makes another leap in interactive media in Jamaica with the launch of the user-generated Internet portal, myReport.
The site, available at www.jamaica-gleaner.com/myReport, allows users to upload text, photo and video content simply after logging on and signing up.
Once the content is approved by our social media moderators, it goes live on the worldwide web.
"This is an exciting addition to our online offerings," said Damion Mitchell, Editor - Radio & Online.
"We are happy to provide yet another avenue to share the accounts of our readers the world over, as they captured it, and in their own words. That is exactly what myReport is about," Mitchell said.
One of the thrilling features of myReport is ‘the assignment’.
This week, the assignment is dubbed 'hurricane hallmark'. With the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season set to start on June 1, we'd like you to upload your photos, videos and stories about landmarks yet to be repaired since a hurricane.
Outside of the assignment, myReport allows users to upload content that may be 'breaking news' or simply, a story they want to tell, like the trials of cancer survivors who have overcome the dreaded disease.
We are especially anxious to hear the stories of Jamaicans in the Diaspora and to get your tips about stories you want us to follow or investigations you want us to pursue.
Just sign up and send.
