Resist LGBT lobby
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Whereas I do not know what the real motive is behind the action, the mayor of Montego Bay must be commended for the council’s stand against allowing the LGBT group to host its seminar at the cultural centre.
For of a truth, society should be slow in accepting controversial lifestyles, especially those that do not find favour with large swathes of the society but vie earnestly to become an indelible part of mainstream culture. In the meantime, I would encourage the Church to make its presence felt.
Although it is not as vibrant and as present as it needs to be, the Church has always been vocal on this and other societal issues. But the LGBT group has been smartly and slowly wending their way into the Church as well as into other sectors of the society.
LGBTs love to cite opposition to their values as discrimination and, in some cases, persecution. The Church must not give in to such diversions.
