Bad telecoms service in Clarendon
THE EDITOR, Sir:
We, as consumers, should take a stand against the failings of telecom providers FLOW and Digicel.
I am a resident of central Clarendon, and since September 2004, after Hurricane Ivan, Digicel has been sending a team of engineers to check on the signal problems that we have been experiencing here. Fifteen years later, they haven’t reached as yet.
Since April of this year, FLOW has been giving us very bad service. On any given day, the Internet might go down 10 to 35 times. This dysfunction has a dampening effect on businesses, schools, and other entities. To make matters worse, when data is added to the handsets, we get little to no service.
When customer care personnel are contacted, it seems that a report is not forwarded to the technicians. What makes matters worse is that every so often, FLOW increases the prices of its services.
The Office of Utilities Regulation needs to step in.
