THE EDITOR, Madam:

In recent years, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the caregivers who support us throughout life’s journey. From birth and adolescence to rehabilitation, disability support, geriatric care, and hospice service, caregivers play an essential role in sustaining families and communities. Their patience, grace, and kindness often go unnoticed, yet their impact is immeasurable.

As one of the sons of ageing parents now approaching 98 and 100 years old, I have witnessed first-hand how caregiving demands can arise suddenly and how quickly they adapt. I have also seen the extraordinary dedication of caregivers who are sometimes unexpected or untraditional, yet who step forward with compassion and strength.

The truth is that all of us will either give care or receive it at some point in our lives. This shared human experience should inspire us to value and uplift those who provide this vital support. Caregivers deserve our gratitude, respect, and recognition for the dignity they bring to the lives of others.
