KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Seasoned talk show host, Barbara Gloudon, today abandoned the talk show Hotline on RJR 94FM after the midday break.

Gloudon who has been the host of the programme for several decades would not reveal the reason behind her action only saying that all is now well.

“Simple. There was something that I had to deal with and it’s dealt with. I spoke with management and I will be at work tomorrow,” she told The Gleaner Online this afternoon.

At the scheduled resumption of the Hotline after the midday break, music was being played.

The announcer occasionally reported “we are having some challenges,” but never explained.

Pressed about these challenges this afternoon, Gloudon remained tight-lipped.

“It is a matter that concerns me,” she said, insisting that it has now been settled.

However, it is understood that Mrs Gloudon left the station upset today, her birthday.

Efforts to speak with the RJR Radio Services manager, Francois St Juste, were unsuccessful as he was said to be in a meeting.

Calls to the cell phone of managing director, Gary Allen, went to his voice mail and he was said to have left office for the day.
