PM accuses Holness of making fun of the poor
The Prime Minister has accused Opposition Leader, Andrew Holness, of making fun of poor Jamaicans to score political points.
Simpson Miller was referring to Holness’ use of a food basket last week to show how the spending power of Jamaicans has diminished under the current administration.
Holness had stated that Jamaicans are finding things so hard they can no longer afford chicken back and have now resorted to eating what is known as 'fish back'.
But this afternoon, Simpson Miller chided Holness, saying people’s pain must never be exploited.
She also quipped that the food basket would have had even fewer items under a Jamaica Labour Party-led government
