RJR shareholders approve resolutions to facilitate Gleaner merger
Shareholders of Radio Jamaica Limited (RJR) have voted to accept a series of resolutions to amend the entity's articles of incorporation to facilitate the merger with The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited.
RJR needed the approval of the holders of at least 75 per cent of the value of shares of those who voted.
The votes were cast today during an extraordinary general meeting at the Wolmer's Boys' School in Kingston.
There were roughly 100 shareholders present.
However, hundreds of others voted by proxy, according to RJR chairman, Lester Spaulding.
