Wisynco Group Limited, the local distributors of the General Mills product lines has issued a voluntary product recall of three Gold Medal flour products.

It follows a much larger recall by General Mills of about 10 million pounds of its flour over a possible link to an E. coli outbreak in 20 states in the United States of America.

The products being recalled are:

1. GML10720 Gold Medal All Purpose Flour .9kg  EXPIRY CODE 27MAY7KC
2. GML10730 Gold Medal Self Rising Flour .9kg EXPIRY CODE 23AUG6KC
3. GML12610 Gold Medal All Purpose Flour 2.3kg EXPIRY CODE 29MAY7KC

Wisynco says only products with the expiration dates listed above are affected by this recall.

"The products are being recalled out of an abundance of caution, as these products entered the Jamaica market from December 2015,” said a Wisynco spokesperson in a statement.

"To date, no traces of E. Coli O121 have been found in any General Mills flour products or in the flour manufacturing facility; and the company has not been contacted directly by any consumer reporting confirmed illnesses related to these products," the company spokesperson said.

The company is also reminding consumers not to eat any raw products made with flour.
