Online database of wanted people being prepared for May roll out
Jamaicans should by the end of this month have access to an online database showing people who are wanted by the police for various crimes.
Head of the criminal investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell, says the police are developing a comprehensive list of all wanted persons for widespread distribution.
He says some of the lists have already been sent out to divisional heads and will be posted in public areas, such as post offices.

However, ACP Powell says an online component is also being developed.
However, ACP Powell noted that the photographs of some wanted persons cannot be placed on the database.
He says this cannot be done in cases where identification parades are needed as it could compromise the investigations.
