The National Works Agency (NWA) says its teams have been mobilised to deal with multiple landslides in sections of St Andrew, as heavy rains continue to affect some communities.

The NWA’s Manager of Communication and Customer Services, Stephen Shaw, says the main road from St Cristopher to Glengoffe is now blocked.

He says the roads from Stony Hill to Toms River and Nolan Hill to Border are being impacted by multiple landslides, reducing them to single lane in sections.

Shaw says the communities of Essex Hall, Cavaliers and Burnt Shop are now inaccessible from either Fingerpost or Lawrence Tavern Square, as three massive landslides are affecting the corridor.

The NWA is urging road users to exercise caution when travelling along those roadways that have been reduced to single lane.
