Latest public sector wage offer a gimmick, says Lambert Brown
Opposition spokesman on the Public Service, Lambert Brown has described as a gimmick, the government’s latest offer to public workers.
He says it resembles a "three-card trick", rather than a serious attempt by an administration to settle public sector salaries and benefits.
According Brown, the government’s latest offer of four per cent in year one and two per cent in year two for the police in no way changes the fundamental offer of three per cent in year one and three per cent in year two.
Brown also says the six per cent offer over two years for public sector workers will not result in any material difference to their take-home pay.
