Jamaica signs treaty with Italy to eliminate double taxation
Jamaica and Italy have signed an agreement to eliminate double taxation as both countries increase cooperation to prevent tax evasion and avoidance.
Finance Minister Audley Shaw and Italy's Ambassador to Jamaica, Armando Varricchio, signed the agreement this morning at the Ministry of Finance at Heroes Circle in Kingston.
Jamaica already has similar agreements with countries such as Canada, China, Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Additionally, Jamaica is a member of the CARICOM multilateral tax treaty which is signed by 11 jurisdictions.
