IMF to deliver assessment on Jamaica today

Shaw ... has already disclosed that the Government has successfully met all the targets agreed with International Monetary Fund under the Stand-By Arrangement.

A team from the International Monetary Fund is today expected to announce that the government has passed its third test under the stand-by arrangement (SBA) with the Fund.

The IMF team is to hold a press conference at the Office of the Prime Minister at 11 o’clock this morning.

Finance Minister Audley Shaw has already disclosed that the Government has successfully met all the targets agreed with the IMF under the SBA.

He said assessments have revealed the government will end the agreement without drawing down on the US$1.64 billion in available financing since the arrangement was agreed in 2016.
