Equipment donated to help with neonate care at VJH

The ability of the Victoria Jubilee Hospital to care for neonates has been boosted with the donation of equipment from UK-based Rejuvenate Jamaica Hospitals (RJH) charity organisation.
The hospital has received five incubators, blood pressure machines and phototherapy lamps worth £6100.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony on Friday Dr Rishi Chand, Senior Medical Officer at the hospital, said the equipment will strengthen efforts made by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to provide more treatment for neonates.
He thanked the foundation for its contribution to public hospitals in Jamaica.
It was disclosed that RJH also donated suctions, ECG machines, beds, wheelchairs and other equipment to the Princess Margaret Hospital in St Thomas.
In 2017, the Kingston Public Hospital received an ultrasound machine valued at US$15000 and two other equipment valued at £3, 057 from RJH.
Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Victoria Jubilee and Kingston Public Hospitals Colleen Wright expressed appreciation for the donations to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, adding that it will go a far way in assisting the department with the whole management of new born babies.
