Blake clocks 10.27 at Dutch Champs
Former world 100m champion Yohan Blake clocked 10.27 today to finish behind Churandy Martina at the Dutch Athletics Championships in Amsterdam.
Blake, along with his Racers Track Club team-mate Warren Weir, is looking to sharpen up ahead of the upcoming World Championships, where he will be representing Jamaica in the 200m.
Blake has been allowed to compete without affiliation at the event, which is being used to select The Netherlands team for the August 22 - 31 event.
Blake, who won the world 100m title in 2011, failed to make Jamaica's team to the World Championships after just coming back from a serious leg injury.
Martina won the event in a time of 10.08 seconds - his fastest in two years, with Solomon Bockarie, 10.29, crossing the line in third place.
Buckarie will, however, be credited with the second place spot, since Blake's placing will not be recognised for Dutch Athletics purposes with Hensley Paulina, 10.33 promoted into third place.
Warren Weir will compete in the men's 200m on Saturday.
