WORLD 100 and 200-metre record holder, Usain Bolt, will make his first appearance when he heads a list of 25 Jamaicans down to compete at this evening's Cayman Invitational meet at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in Grand Cayman.

After watching some of his teammates at the Racers Track Club, including Yohan Blake, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Warren Weir, get off to good starts for 2016, the big man is hoping for a sub-ten seconds run in the 100 metres.

Bolt, who arrived in the Cayman Islands on Thursday afternoon, will compete in the Ministry of Tourism 100-metre event at 7:40 p.m., the final event of the meet. He will line up against training partner Bailey-Cole, Jason Rodgers of St Kitts, Trinidad and Tobago's Kyle Greaux, home boy Kemar Hyman and two other Jamaicans, Jevaughn Minzie and Jason Young.

Bolt who will be making his second appearance in that country is looking forward to having a good run.

"I don't know what to expect. Most of my friends have bet on how fast I am going to run. I have 9.91, so we will see how that goes. The fastest time is 9.86 so I will see how it works out," said Bolt who spoke at a press conference on Thursday shortly after arriving in Grand Cayman.

"I am going out there to run hard because I need to see where I am at this stage of the season ... what I need to work on, it's all about execution," he concluded.

Blake clocked 9.95 at the recent MVP Track meet while Bailey-Cole did 10.01 to top a good field at last weekend's Jamaica International Invitational.

The world-leading time is last month's 9.91 by Qatar's Femi Ogunode.
