Jamaica's senior women's team striker Trudi Carter is on the brink of signing a deal with AS Roma's women's team.

Carter who got the news via her agent this morning was overwhelmed. She will be leaving for Italy after the CONCACF Caribbean Women's World Cup qualifiers which end next Sunday.

"I have not signed the contract yet because I am here with the national team participating in the Caribbean Women's World Cup qualifiers. My agent called me with the news this morning so you are the first media person I have told. This is a dream come true," a naturally elated Carter told The Gleaner.

The 23 year-old is a past student of Jones Town Primary and Trench Town  High. Last June Serie A giants AS Roma confirmed that they would enter a women’s team into next season’s Serie A Calcio Femminile (women's league).

The Giallorossi women’s team will be coached by Elisabetta Bavagnoli, with home games to be played at Stadio Tre Fontane.
