The folks at China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) were feeling the season's spirit when they hosted a Christmas dinner party at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel on Tuesday.

The company, perhaps most famous for its continued rehabilitation of the Palisadoes main road, treated guests from various partner sectors to good Jamaican Christmas vibe, the sorrel, ham and fruit cake to boot. A live band, Acoustic Ambiance, led by Seretse Small on lead guitar and Ellan Neil providing the vocals, kept guests entertained with their shoe-tapping, finger-snapping jams to help bring warmth to the nippy evening air.

In 2009, CHEC was officially assigned by the Jamaican Government (through the Ministry of Transport and Works) the role of general contractor of the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme. So with their impact on parishes islandwide, and the partnerships this interaction spawns, it's no wonder guests showed up to celebrate the festive season. Even though it was by poolside, CHEC still laid out the tables so guests could have dinner under the stars.

This wasn't a night for speeches or other such officialdom, but there was a special presentation to Transport Minister Mike Henry and fab wife Dawn, who were celebrating their seventh year of wedded bliss.
