LIME's command performance

The secret has finally been revealed. No one could guess what LIME was planning on Thursday, December 9 when they invited guests to the 'Command Centre' (the SportsMax Zone from the World Cup) on Trafalgar Road for something that was 'top secret'.
A downpour that evening made getting there a little difficult but the only deluge guests had to cope with inside was a pleasant one; tasty hors d'oeuvres, A well-stocked bar and thumping music from DJ Liquid. Then, somewhat ominously, a digitised voice sounded the warning that guests were to enter the "control room".
This turned out to be a huge studio setting where LIME mobile TV was unleashed. LIME Jamaica honchos Garry Sinclair and Chris Dehring reminded the gathering that in August they had promised that Jamaicans would be able to watch their favourite cable television programmes on their phone. The doubters (and haters) thought it wouldn't happen before Christmas; they are eating their words at the moment. The words "the revolution will be televised" were pounded out before a movie-esque presentation featuring parodies of the channels you can access.
Among the stars to herald the launch were Shaggy and Alaine, and the premiere of their song For Your Eyes Only featured the technology at work. The video seemed to be cut short, only because both artistes would appear live on stage to finish up. At first, it seemed that if a special card was under your seat, you would get one of the handsets - five in all. As it turned out, the colourfully dressed LIME promotion belles passed out special cards which were tickets to join the mobile TV world. If you didn't get one, too bad for you. So whether it's sports, entertainment or children's programmes, like LIME says about its mobile TV, "It's on!"
Among the guests were LIME entertainers Beenie Man, Mavado, Prodigal, Ce'Cile, Denyque, Ishawna and Timberlee; other entertainers including Wayne Marshall and Tami Chynn; Portmore Mayor Keith Hinds, Don and Ayesha Creary, Kamal Bankay, William Mahfood, Kim Lee, Garth Walker, Leighton Davis, Paul Campbell, Ed Khoury, Lennie Little-White, Marcia Forbes, Mark Shields, Adrian Robinson and Lambert Brown.
