Jamaicans Asafa Powell and Veronica Campbell-Brown will be among the featured attractions in the 100 metres at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix on May 15.

The event is the second stop on the 14-meet International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League series.

Powell, the former 100m world record holder, is expected to use the Shanghai race as a key part of his build-up towards his first Diamond Race Trophy.

Injury forced the Jamaican to pull out of the Diamond League in Stockholm last August, but he returned to the track and is gradually finding his legs.

The Shanghai race will also be a key test of whether Powell can regain the 100 world record now held by compatriot Usain Bolt.

Powell held the record for three years before Bolt lowered the mark at the 2008 Olympic Games in the Chinese capital of Beijing.

On the women's side, reigning Diamond League 100 champion, Carmelita Jeter, has a showdown with Campbell-Brown, the two-time Olympic 200m gold medallist and 2007 World 100 champion.

Last year, they met four times and the duel ended in a 2-2 draw.

Jeter captured the Diamond League title with wins in Shanghai, Lausanne and Monaco last year when she ran a lifetime best of 10.64 seconds at this meet to become the second-fastest woman of all time.
