NCB sponsors Team CRC Racing
Team CRC Racing received a well-needed financial boost from the National Commercial Bank (NCB) and Boom Energy Drink on Wednesday.
The handing over ceremony and unveiling of the team's outfitted Mitsubishi Evolutions took place at the NCB Wellness and Recreation Centre in Kingston.
The boost came in the form of a sponsorship, which made the team's 2011 participation in the racing season possible.
Julian Patrick, manager of sponsorship and promotions at NCB said the sponsorship was in keeping with the bank's credo of nation building.
"It is a good fit in terms of aligning ourselves with excellence," Patrick said.
"But, at the same time, it is excellence on a level that is granular enough to support the overall development of the sport in Jamaica."
Appreciation
Charles Maxwell of Team CRC, who was in the company of team member, Raymond Donaldson voiced his sentiments of appreciation.
"Racing on a whole has got more expensive and NCB coming onboard has really helped us," Maxwell said.
"We hope that other successful companies as equal as NCB, will see where its viable to sponsor drivers out there looking for sponsorships and can't get any," he said.
"I hope that these companies seeing NCB out there will influence them to sponsor other drivers so we can make motorsports grow."
The president of Jamaica Race Drivers Club, Hilary Jardine, congratulated the bank and Boom Energy Drink for the sponsorship.
"Thousands of people will be seeing your products on the cars come Monday," He said.
The sponsorship comprised the outfitting of the vehicles and uniforms along with funds to assist the team in the upcoming race season.
The team has been racing at Dover raceway for four years.
