Orville Edwards football tomorrow

The third renewal of the Orville Edwards Memorial football festival will take place tomorrow at the Bell/Chung Oval.

At 2 p.m., the Santos Under-20 team will play Real Mona Under-20, and in the feature match at 4 p.m. Santos Masters will play Real Mona Masters for the Orville Edwards Trophy.

Former national goalkeeper Orville 'Tutus' Edwards, died from kidney failure at the age of 53 in August 2005. Edwards was Jamaica's and one of the Caribbean's top goalkeepers during the 1970s and '80s. He was a member of the victorious Vere Technical High School team that won the daCosta Cup and Olivier Shield in 1968, 1969 and 1970, and also a member of Santos Football Club at the National League, KSAFA Major League and Master's League levels, which ruled local football from 1973 to 1980.

The Peter Moses-coached Real Mona team will have the Murray brothers, Richard, Gerald and Michael, along with Nick Ziadie, Roger Bishop, Ian Bond, Hylton Cobran, Phillip Crimarco, Lloyd Distant, Ian Gage, Peter Lee, Michael Lewis, Louis Matalon, Paul Pringle, Gregory Reid, David Williams, Chris Green, Chris Dehring and Chris Williams in their line-up.

The Lyndon Dawes-coached Santos will be led by goalkeeper Nyron Prawl, Bryan Leon, Michael Tomlinson, Clint Reid, Victor Samuels, Winston Pusey, Sherrick Williams, George Stephens, Wayne Shaw, Sean Thompson and Kirk White.
