EUNICE LUCINDA Crompton-Nicholas de Scholefield, local employee at the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina in Jamaica, who served with distinction and dedication for more than 31 years, has received the Order of May of Merit with the rank of Dame.

The Order commemorates the May Revolution in Argentina, and is one of the country's highest decorations. Scholefield was appointed to the Order by way of a document signed by the president of Argentina, Cristina E. Fernández de Kirchner, grand master of the Order. The medal was presented to Scholefield by the Ambassador of Argentina, Mario José Piño, during a ceremony at his St Andrew residence a few months ago, and she was officially declared a Dame of the Order of May.

This is the second time the award has been given to a local employee in recognition of years of service to the Embassy of Argentina in Jamaica.
