2012 Fashion Trends

Don't go throwing out your 2011 closet yet. The fashion forecasters are saying it's not completely out with the old and in with the new. The forecast is that the trends for 2012 will not be that different from 2011, just a few elements popping up here and there. But we found them.
1. High slit dress
Yes, you can still break this one out, so don't relegate it to the back of your closet just yet.
2. Peter Pan collar
The '60s Peter Pan collar has been dominant on the red carpet, but not so much here on this warm island. But January can get cool, so watch out.
3. Wedges and sandals
Jamaicans seem to love these and so wedges and high-heel sandals are stepping with us into 2012.
4. The doctor's bag
It seems like finally we have moved away from oversized totes and become fully structured. Two thousand and eleven started with more structured bags. this year, they are called doctors' bags. Any doctors in the house?
5. Wide-leg pants
Don't get it twisted now. we are not talking denim. and don't overdo it; just give your pants some width.
6. Coloured tights
Move over black, it's time for super-bright leggings and tights. Let's flash some colours.
7. Tuxedo Jackets
Yes, these have their shoulder pads in the door for 2012.
8. Colours
Bright bold colours are here to stay. We are talking orange, tangerine, green, bright pink, and canary. But don't' count pastels out just yet; they still have their place.
9. Bold prints
A few years ago, bold prints were in. Look out 2012, here they come again.
