Domino's Pizza 'doubles down' on delivery

Domino's Pizza has increased its fleet of deli-very riders by more than 40 per cent in the last three months in order to further cement its position as the most convenient food service offering in Jamaica.

"If there is one singular trait that separates Domino's from the competition, it's the reliability of our speed of delivery," says Sean Scott, CEO of Wisynco Foods Ltd.

Domino's took a strategic decision this year, despite the increased investment and higher operating costs, to hire an additional 25 motorbike delivery men - known internally as 'Delivery Experts'. With 10 stores islandwide, and a new store opening along Main Street, May Pen, this week, this brings the full fleet of Domino's riders to above 65.

"As a result of the double-digit growth we are experiencing, it's crucial that we invest ahead of sales, not just to maintain, but to improve on our service promise," Scott noted.

"To be successful at the delivery business, you have to be fully committed. Our internal operations, information technology systems, and training is all geared towards attaining consistent speed of service. Our systems record can track a pizza order from the moment the phone is answered to when it leaves the front door."

Domino's is the only pizza brand that offers delivery from each of its locations in Jamaica. And the data shows the strategy is paying off. Domino's has reduced its average delivery time significantly, now averaging just above 25 minutes from placing to receiving an order. "All thanks to our delivery experts. It's their hustle and commitment that have allowed us to grow the Domino's pizza business one satisfied customer at time," Scott said.

Domino's Pizza is the global leader of pizza delivery and just opened its 10,000th store world-wide. Domino's Jamaica plans to open three additional stores in the next 12 months and is consistently recruiting delivery experts. Company bikes can be provided to persons without motorbikes.
