Pepsi adds Crystal Punch to its portfolio
Pepsi Cola Jamaica Bottling Limited has added a new product, Crystal Punch bottled water, to its portfolio of products.
The new product, which comes in a 500 ml bottle, is being retailed at a suggested price of $600 per case of 24.
It came to the market on May 1, just after Pepsi's recent expansion of its manufacturing plant at a cost of $10 million, the company said in a release.
"Consumers should have water at the lowest price and a team to deliver one that is best for the company and the customers," said Miguel Alameda, commercial director of Pepsi Cola Jamaica.
"With this bottle we are using the least amount of plastic of all our products. Apart from being environmentally friendly, it is the cheapest and purest water on the market," he said.

The product is currently being mass-marketed and is available in most wholesale and retail distribution chain, the company said.
This will be the company's second bottled water on the local market.
"Our original water, Aqua Essential, will remain on the market. We are going in a different direction with Crystal Punch, making it available to and affordable to everyone based on price point," Alameda said.
Pepsi competes with the Wisynco Group, which distributes the WATA brand and is the largest distributor in the local market. Catherine's Peak bottled water is thought to be in the number two position.
In addition to locally bottled water, the product is also imported into Jamaica from as far as Fiji in the South West Pacific, midway between the South Pole and the Equator in the midst of the South Pacific Ocean, and as close as North America.
Popular brands being imported include Fiji Natural Artesian Water from Fiji Islands and Zephyrhills from the United States.
Data from a Bureau of Standards listing of bottled water available in Jamaica as at July 2011 indicate that there are 36 local brands operating under 26 establishments and seven imported brands.
