Our souls fell in love before we did
Alisia Lawson and Carrot Jarrett (of Third World fame), were united in marriage in a beautiful ceremony on Friday, June 7 along the picturesque coastline of Wickie Wackie, Bull Bay, Kingston.
The couple met briefly in 1998, but their friendship only began to grow in 2008. As the beautiful bride tells Flair, Carrot was living overseas and both were always involved with someone else ... so they remained friends and their friendship grew over the years.
In 2011, Carrot decided to return home from New York, and a year later they began dating. The couple became intimate in March 2012 and he proposed in October of that same year.
Of the courtship, friendship and subsequent union, Alisia said: "I think our souls fell in love before we did ... it was magnetic ... we've been inseparable since."
And in his words, "It is so good that the wish I desired with Alisia being my wife is now realised."
The bride is the daughter of Winston and Monica Lawson and the groom is the son of the late Donald and Ruthlyn Jarrett. Reverend Dr Kofi Nkrumah-Young officiated the ceremony, while the memories were captured by Dr Wade Morgan and Delroy Thompson. The wedding cake was by Ends of Earth and caterers of the scrumptious meal were Absolute Party Service.
The couple had a supporting cast that comprised sisters of honour - Alison Newman and Denise 'Isis' Miller; the bride's daughters, Damali Robertson, Jahtonali, Dimona and Ashaayo Barrett; with best man Kevin Jarrett and groomsmen Esmond Jarrett, Ibo Cooper, Gordon Coke, Junior March and Master Judah Jarrett.
