Elite Imaging Centre opens for business

The tagline for Elite Diagnostic Imaging Services reads: experience the difference', and that's the truth. From you enter the waiting room, you are immediately transported into an atmosphere of cool elegance and professionalism. The decor is both soothing and pleasant with immaculately groomed staff waiting to serve you.

They opened their doors last Saturday evening and right off the bat, the man in charge Dr Neil Fong said the objective is that patients do not wait an eternity for service. So to make that a reality, the opening hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Elite Diagnostic is a full service imaging centre and is ideally located at 1B Holborn Road, just a stone's throw from the hive of activity in the bustling New Kingston area.

The equipment in all of the treatment rooms is brand new and the latest models from world famous General Electric brand. And it does not come cheap, in all the venture took J$147 million but it's worth it to Warren Chung, president and CEO of Elite Diagnostics. Chung thanked his guests for their presence, and his partners for seizing the vision for the centre.

Using only certified specialists in their field, the centre will offer magnetic resonance imaging, X-ray, ultrasound imaging, computed tomography scans and fluoroscopy - a continuous x-ray beam to create a sequence of images that are projected on to a fluorescent screen or monitor. There are 13 members of staff backed up by a team of contracted radiographers. Among them is Judy Lawson, a radiographer who has 10 years' experience.

"I enjoy my job" she told The Gleaner, adding that at the new centre she will have the opportunity to do more. "The equipment is new and has all the latest features so we can function at our optimum and offer more to patients," she said.

And to underscore their intention to offer only excellence, Chung said they would rather encourage a patient to leave and do other business than wait. He stressed they want to have someone waiting an hour or less.

Treatment rooms are impressive and each has its own diagnostic room from which the experts can monitor and record what is taking place just a wall away. Everything happens in air-conditioned comfort.
