Livid 'Voice' fan blasts TVJ
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I was quite perturbed on Monday, October 7, to go home ready to watch The Voice on NBC at 7 p.m., as I have always done for the past three seasons of the show, only to find a notice from Flow Jamaica that Television Jamaica had bought the rights to the programme and, therefore, would not be able to view the programme but instead would have to watch it DELAYED two hours later on TVJ. I was most livid!
Maybe I am selfish, but I do not believe good-paying customers of cable service should be subjected to this inconvenience for the sake of this sudden interest in The Voice because there is a Jamaican on the show.
I wholeheartedly support the Jamaican in the competition, but I have been watching the show long before there was a Jamaican on the programme and will continue to be a fan long after.
I don't have an issue with TVJ allowing other Jamaicans who don't have access to cable television to be able to view the programme, but I don't think it is right to subject true fans of the show to suffer for two hours after the actual air time to watch the programme.
I am very disappointed and upset with both Flow and TVJ and hope this very selfish move on the part of TVJ will be reversed.
