WESTERN BUREAU:

Bats 'hung out' at the bar and the DJ booth, skulls and pumpkins were their accompaniment, as lovers of Halloween partied to the tune of The Dancing Dead.

It wasn't just another Saturday night in Montego Bay. Alexis Monteith's South Beach Saturday hit the right spot with the ghouls, witches, Count Dracula, Spider Man, Bat Woman, Wonder Woman, Cleopatra, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Elvis Prestley, supervillain Poison Ivy, and even some angels.

The party promoter partnered this time with Riu Resorts, and Sand Bar at Doctor's Cave Beach.

From as early as 10 p.m., it was obvious this was going to be the scary party of the season, and Riu's Michael Jackson Thriller dancers had not even touched the stage yet. However, when it was time for what can only be described as an epic performance, the area was fogged and the frightening and creepy transformation took place.

This was no ordinary fright night and the 'Weeners' knew it. This was thoroughly displayed by their prancing, dancing, jumping and gyrating to the Miami-style mix of Latin, electronic, and international music from DJ Irie Latino.

At 2 a.m. Sunday, Carlos Mario Gutierrez and Claudia Navarro were walking away with the Best Costume prize of a day or night pass for two to Riu Montego Bay.
