Reggae artiste Lutan Fyah recently celebrated his birthday party in Spaldings, Clarendon, and was well supported by members of the entertainment industry.
Lutan Fyah was celebrating his birthday by hosting an event for the first time, and according to the singer, he is already anticipating next year's staging.
Live performances started at 1a.m. when MC Beetle Bailey introduced Leaf Of Life to the stage.
The fiery rastafarian gave his usual social commentary to an apparently pleased Clarendon audience before making way for Mickey General, Chezideck, Charley Black, Jah Mason, Iba Mahr, Nesbeth, Iyara and the man of the night, Lutan Fyah.
Reggae artiste Fantan Mojah followed Lutan Fyah and delivered an exceptional set. He also gave patrons a huge surprise by calling Jah Cure on to the stage. Fantan Mojah and Jah Cure have a collaborative effort called Great Men.
Welcomed by deafening applause, Jah Cure performed popular hits from his catalogue such as Longing For and That Girl.
Other established artistes who made strong impressions at Lutan Fyah's festive season birthday celebration were Gyptian, Sizzla Kalonji and Popcaan.
Sizzla and Popcaan performed a tag-team set, during which they managed to raise the electricity level at the venue even higher. Female patrons could not contain themselves.
Ninja Man and the Downsound Records Crew soon joined Popcaan and Sizzla in the tag-team display.
Ninja Man also gave patrons a taste of what they could expect at Sting by inviting Sizzla Kalonji to a lyrical battle.
Both artistes went head to head in a tight freestyle clash which lasted for more than 20 minutes.
The battle came to an end with Sizzla concluding his solo set, while Ninja Man wrapped up his set by performing Ninja Mi Ninja.
Recording artiste Nature also managed to squeeze in a short version of his song World Peace, before the police appeared at minutes after 3 a.m. to pull the plug on what was an extremely entertaining event.
Lutan Fyah says a DVD of the birthday celebration will be released before the end of 2013, and will be available for purchase in record stores islandwide.
Highlights can also be viewed on Ultra Modern Reggae and Dancehall Magazine's website at www.ultramodernmedia.net.
Lutan Fyah is on tour in Africa and is expected back in the island tomorrow.
