The Kacifen Project
Independent model and Flair Magazine's repeat cover model, Kaci Fennell, recently jetted off to South Africa to start her international modelling career with BASE Model Agency. The 21-year-old starlet arrived in Cape Town a few days ago and has already started creating a stir.
Her booker, Connie, tells Outlook, "Kaci is quite beautiful and spunky. We love her personality and we expect Kaci to do well this season."
Before being signed, Kaci did a test shoot organised by INTUIT Concepts with photographer William Richards at the picturesque and fabulous Trident Castle in Portland, just days before leaving the Rock for South Africa.
According to Kibwe McGann, managing director of INTUIT Concepts, "We had a very short window to get Kaci ready. The good thing about Kaci is that she has many industry fans and
supporters. In our circles, we called it the Kacifen Project. Everyone
we contacted responded favourably, offering and donating their services
to aid in Fennell's development in South Africa. Photographer William
Richards must be commended as he pulled out all the stops, shooting six
looks for her starting portfolio. Assistance was also sought from
international model Jotasha Turnbull (signed with the same Cape Town
agency), also no stranger to the covers of the Flair
Magazine, who worked alongside Kaci, teaching her various
poses and techniques," he said.
On arrival, Fennell
was met by fellow Jamaican model, Marlon Cotterell, who is also based in
South Africa. Marlon has done extremely well in South Africa and is
keen to support a fellow Jamaican, even arranging accommodations and
airport transfer for her.
The journey has been a
whirlwind for Fennell and, after a tiring journey, she tells, "This has
been surreal, I can't get over the fact that I'm in Africa! I haven't
travelled much, but, honestly, this is one of the most gorgeous places I
have ever been to. This is an absolute blessing and I'm beyond grateful
for this experience and will definitely use the opportunity to meet
amazing people, eat great food, and make everyone at home proud," she
ended.
Fennell's journey to stardom begins now as we
have yet another Jamaican who is bound to make an impact on the
modelling stage in South Africa following in the footsteps of Miss
Universe first-place runner-up, Yendi
Phillipps.
