An epic three-night musical affair brought out some of the most stylish musical lovers to the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium. 2014 Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival was another successful jazz festival with some very legendary acts taking the stage and looking super stylish.

THE MOST STYLISH FROM JAZZ & BLUES

  • Moses Davis

Night one had a very different, intriguing-yet-sophisticated performance from The Other Side of Moses Davis, also known to us as Beenie Man. His set was something we had never heard before, with a genre of jazz music, but he stayed true to his showmanship and his stylish demeanour and attire for his performance. He wore a black velvet tailored jacket, white button-up shirt, a black bow tie, and threw his locks back in a 'do. It is always a pleasure anticipating and seeing what Beenie Man is going to wear onstage when he performs.

  • Marcia Griffiths

The legendary Marcia Griffiths looked absolutely stunning as usual. She wore a black and white sequinned, printed maxi dress with her staple statement turban to match. Marcia had a wardrobe change to a flowing yellow skirt and sheer button-up blouse, when she performed with Judy Mowatt.

  • Chronixx

Chronixx surprised me with his ensemble, looking very trendy and chic in an off-white blazer and a burgundy multi-print tribal shirt to match. His style is definitely on the rise and one to watch out for.

  • Protojé

Protojé, staying true to his Rasta-chic, military look, wore a brown leather vintage large-rim hat, and khaki trousers with a washed army military button-up shirt, looking very true to his music. In this sense, Protojé wears his music.

  • Joe

The true R&B sensation Joe always dresses so dapperly for the ladies. He started off his performance in a white suit paired with a checkered purple and white shirt with a matching bow tie and off-white loafers. He definitely delivers the style every time.

  • Toni
    Braxton

The R&B diva looked absolutely sexy
and stunning in a beaded bodycon suit for the first half of her
performance, after which she changed into a lace black and nude robe and
a beaded bodysuit underneath. I loved how slicked back her hair was,
which simply complemented her sexy look onstage. She was joined by all
her sisters, except Tamar Braxton, who were her backup singers. They all
wore black peplum baby-doll dresses with wide silver metallic belts to
match.

  • Chrisette
    Michele

Outlook got an opportunity
to sit down with Chrisette Michele to discuss her style evolution from
her first album, I am, to her latest album,
Better. Michele said that her style usually changes
depending on her music and what she is recording and promoting at that
given time. We have all seen her go from long flowing hair to now a more
edgy cut with blonde highlights that does so well for the shape of her
face and her skin tone.

She told us that her style has
definitely evolved from her first album, but her go-to pieces, if she
is recording in the studio or running around town, will always be a
great pair of skinny black jeans, a black tee, and a black leather
jacket. Her funk and edge definitely keep us wanting more and allow us
to be intrigued with what she is going to wear next. For her
performance, she wore a black, sheer, bustier baby-doll dress and black
pointy pumps that kept her look edgy yet
sophisticated.

  • Chaka Khan

This was
one of the very few times in my life that I have seen Chaka Khan
under-dressed for a performance. Shocking! Why? She wore a sparkly
burgundy fitted top with a simple pair of jeans. As an iconic
trailblazer that set the tone and standards for how female artistes
should dress on and off stage, Chaka really
disappointed.

  • Beres
    Hammond

The king of reggae music closed the jazz fest
weekend with a bang! The audience waited patiently for Beres to bless
the stage, and so he did! He wore his signature Kangol paired with a
tailored white button-up shirt and a pair of jeans. Always keeping true
to his style, he looked really great and his spirits and stage
performance brought everything to life.
