Lovers' rock sweetheart, Nordia Witter transitions from Crazy to KoKo. The songstress has her sight set on a new market and is making changes to her image in an effort to appeal to her new target.
The songstress will no longer go by the name Nordia Witter but will now go by the moniker KoKo as she makes the transition from lovers' rock to high-energy dancehall.
Dubbing the change a necessity, Witter says the name KoKo will give her the sexy new edge she desires.
"KoKo is a bit more hip and definitely more appealing to the younger generation and that's where I'm focusing right now," said Witter.
KoKo says her new single B'Rida has been receiving great rotation regionally and she is excited about her future in music.
B'Rida, her new dancehall-soca single on the 'Green Light' rhythm, was recorded earlier this year and is testament to Witter's new approach to the music.
"It is all about being sexy and bringing the high-energy party vibe," she said.
The video has also been completed.
"Substance Muzik worked on me with this. We just wrapped up the shoot about two weeks ago and fans will see the sexier side of me," she said.
KoKo says the new video and song will serve as the ultimate girls' anthem and will get the female audience dancing again.
"I don't want to give away too much because I like to surprise my fans but the song is called B'Rida so it has to be sexy and the ladies will be representing."
The artiste told The Gleaner there were a few projects outside of music pending but insists that her focus is not in question.
