PARTNERING WITH the Hope Zoo Preservation Foundation Limited, Billy Craig Insurance Brokers (BCIC) has institutionalised its support for the zoo. In a brief ceremony, the company recently laid a plaque at the zoo committing ongoing insurance sponsorship for the two-storey building occupied as office, boardroom and ticket office.

Billy Craig first gave support to the zoo last year March by sponsoring insurance for that building for one year. Effective March 5 this year, the company renewed its sponsorship which was acknowledged with the laying of the plaque.

"We consider it a privilege to be a part of Guardsman's philanthropic effort to provide Jamaica with a fully fledged successful zoo," said BCIB's CEO William Craig. "It enriches our communities, and the children especially can benefit from having access to these many animals from the wild."

With primary support from the Guardsman Group, and inputs from others in Corporate Jamaica and institutions like the United Nations Development Programme, Hope Zoo has been substantially upgraded in the last two years as part of an expansion plan.
