TORONTO (AP):

A man stabbed four of his colleagues at a Toronto office building before being subdued, police said yesterday.

Toronto police Detective Dan Darnbrough said employees subdued the man before police arrived. He said two of the four are in serious condition. One man and three females were hurt.

Darnbrough said the man, approximately 45 years old, is in custody, following the stabbing on the fifth floor of the building. Police said they believe the suspect used a knife.

Police earlier said they were called at about 9:30 a.m. with reports that "a man with scissors" had entered the business on the fifth floor and began stabbing people.

Police declined to identify the company involved.
