Miguel Collins, more popularly known as Sizzla Kalonji seems to have put his worst days behind him and is focusing on music and positive messages, releasing his latest studio album, Born a King, courtesy of Multi Music.

The official release date was May 6 and, already, the album has earned positive feedback from the industry.

Produced by the Australian Mista Savona, the album is said to boast a good balance of roots reggae, dancehall and hip hop-infused tracks.

Born a King has 15 new tracks and features collaborations with Errol Dunkley and Turbulence.

The album is available for digital download via iTunes as well as the traditional CD and vinyl.

According to online sources, the album was recorded during a two-year period, 2011 to 2013 and sees the entertainer showcasing his lyrical abilities.

"We are honoured to be representing such an esteemed artiste on Muti Music. Projects like these take the label in a new direction," said a release from Multi Music.

STING controversy

Throughout his 23-year career, Sizzla has released close to 70 albums with more than 20 making the Billboard's Top Reggae Albums music chart with Words of Truth, the best of the lot, peaking at number five.

The internationally acclaimed artiste was at the centre of a recent controversy which resulted in a lifetime ban from the promoters of Sting. The entertainer was reportedly issued the ban because he failed to comply with the agreed protocol for his performance at last year's event.

The organisers have said that after the entertainer agreed to refrain from using anti-homosexual content, he repeatedly lashed out at the homosexual community during his set.

The entertainer was also fined by the Yallahs Magistrate's Court for using profanity at a session in St Thomas in February.
