The national culinary team, under the guidance of The Culinary Federation of Jamaica, will be jetting off to Miami, Florida, for the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Competition which takes place from June 28 to July 2.

After a dazzling performance at last year's event, Team Jamaica is anticipating more medals for this year as they prepare to showcase the best of Jamaica's culinary talent. The team previewed some of their competition dishes at the final meeting of the Culinary Federation of Jamaica at Sandals Grand Riviera, prior to their departure.

The team's trip is largely funded by the Tourism Enhancement Fund and the Best Dressed Chicken. According to Avadaugn Sinclair, marketing manager at The Best Dressed Chicken, they are confident in the team. "Team Jamaica has consistently made us proud, and we expect the very best from them in the competition this year," she said. She added, "Food is one of the most memorable experiences when people travel, and Jamaica will always be on top as we have some of the most creative culinary talents. We are delighted to sponsor Team Jamaica once again as they test their skills against their Caribbean counterparts."
