Conference organisers Belle Amor, led by Kerie-Ann Thombs, will be hosting its inaugural LifeStyle Change Conference on January 24 At Eden Gardens. This conference will be powered by a trade show under the theme 'Empowering Women for Development'. It will be held in collaboration with GoInspired Jamaica (GoInspiredJa.com) and Eden Gardens Wellness Resort and Spa.

Registration is $1,500 and persons are already registering online at belleamorconcepts.com and GoInspiredJa.com.

The ultimate goal of this conference, in addition to helping our women, is to provide a scholarship to a mature student to further pursue their educational goals. Entries at belleamorja@gmail.com and at Eden Gardens.

The Women's Conference starts at 9 a.m. and will go until 9 p.m. Women are encouraged to truly devote a day to themselves. With overwhelming schedules, sacrifices and giving so much to others, some might think this is a long time to be anywhere, but it's not. What's your daily routine? It probably goes like this; get up early, get to the office by 8 a.m., leave at 5 p.m. or later, get home take care of family and chores, do some more office work, get ready for next day, feel stressed, get to bed at 10 p.m., wake up tired and do it all over again.

At least here you will be pampered and catered to and you are investing in you. We have 15 powerful session presenters covering topics from self-esteem, coping with loss, anger management, dealing with abuse of any kind, single parenting, getting fit and healthy, learning how to apply make-up, self defence. We have covered the gamut. For fun, there will be giveaways, spot prizes or goodie bags every hour. Entertainment will be by Mackeehan, Ikaya, and Voicemail. Only women who spend the full 12 hours will have an opportunity to win a weekend for two at any Sandals resort property. The conference will climax with a mini-celebration with wine and music to show our appreciation for our participants.

There will be complimentary coffee breaks and product sampling and there will be a lunch special courtesy of Eden Gardens which can be purchased at Tulips restaurant.

For the mothers who would like to attend the conference we have included a baby room and daycare set up courtesy of The Learning Cottage which is ranked No. 2 as the top daycare in St Andrew. We have space for 28 children between the ages of seven months to nine years old. This runs from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. Parents would have to provide snacks and are encouraged to bring their children's favourite books and toys to keep their children occupied. Please reserve your space early. The cost for this service is $1,000. For mothers who might want to

leave their children for an hour this is $500, but is dependent on availability of space.

Our teen room starts at 10 a.m. There will be three 2-hour sessions - 10am-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-3p.m. and 4 p.m-6 p.m.

building confidence

Our girls will engage in discussions and activities with a few of their favourite celebrities. The discussions will cover self-esteem, body language, hygiene, planning ahead, body image, anger management, relationships and school. There will be activities geared towards building confidence and self-awareness. It's $100 for teens, but we won't turn anyone away.

The trade show starts at 10 a.m. and will have exhibitors showcasing a wide range of products and services for women either free of cost or at discounted prices.

The National Family Planning Board will have their HIV screening bus and Family Life Ministries will be offering counselling sessions at no cost throughout the day (conducted in a private room). Ladies will have access to a nutritionist From Eden gardens to guide them throughout the day.
