Constable arrested for illegal firearm

A police constable attached to the Newport West police station in Kingston has been taken into custody for illegal possession of a firearm.



Police officials have not yet released details about the circumstances under which the constable was held.

However, The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that he was arrested at the Newport West police station this morning after the illegal firearm was found in a bag that was in his possession.
