Thieves break into Bunting's villa, steal gadgets, jewellery
The Portland police have launched a search for a gang of thieves who on Saturday night stole several pricey items from a villa that was being used by National Security Minister Peter Bunting.
The Gleaner understands that the thieves made off with an iPad, two cellular phones and several pieces of jewelry belonging to Bunting and a female member of his party.
It is alleged that following the intervention of some residents of Portland the iPad and cellular phones were returned but the robbers held on to the jewelry.
It is not yet clear if any money was exchanged for the return of the items.
Today, numerous attempts were made to contact Bunting and the head of the Portland Police, Superintendent Wayne Cameron, but their phones went unanswered.
