Miss Jamaica World contestant accepts MP's apology
The Miss Jamaica World 2013 contestant who was the subject of an unfavourable Twitter post by Member of Parliament for North West St Ann, Dr Dayton Campbell, says she holds no grudge against the politician.
Jenaae Jackson, who received the Best Figure award in the contest, says she has accepted Dr Campbell’s apology and wishes him the best.
Shortly after she was named as the recipient of the award, the government MP took to Twitter decrying the announcement saying the contestant was shaped like the Jamaican economy.
He later apologised for the tweet.
Jackson says it is unfortunate that a man in his position would say something like that about a contestant who is running to represent Jamaica.
However she says she is confident and knows she is deserving of the prize.
Jackson finished as first runner-up to 2013 Miss Jamaica World Gina Hargitay.
