KINGSTON, Jamaica:

The police say they have picked up a man matching the description of one of the two killers of the manager of Payless Car Mart, Robert Mendez.

Forty-one-year-old Mendez was killed at the car mart on Maxfield Avenue in St Andrew about 8 o’clock on April 1.

The attack captured on Closed Circuit showed the manager slouched in his chair afterwards, after being attacked by the men who posed as customers.

A firearm was taken from Mendez.

The surveillance footage of the brazen murder at the automotive dealership has been circulating on social networks Facebook and YouTube, after being aired on television.

Head of the Kingston and St Andrew Major Investigation Taskforce (MIT), Superintendent Michael Phipps, says he has received information that police in St Elizabeth in conjunction with members of the MIT picked up a man in the parish this morning.

However, he says investigations are still ongoing to check whether the detained man is indeed one of the men seen on the surveillance footage.
