WORLD CUP 2014: Brazil vs Croatia 1-1 - half-time report
Andre Lowe, Senior Sports Reporter
Its all square in Sao Paulo as a 1-1 scoreline at half-time has left fans at the edge of their seats, as the 2014 FIFA World Cup gets underway with host Brazil and Croatia on equal terms heading into the locker rooms.
Croatia silenced the majority of the 61,000 fans inside the Arena Corinthians Stadium after Olic’s tempting cross was poorly dealt with by defender Marcelo, with the Real Madrid man bundling the ball into his own net in the 11th minute.
Brazilian wonder-boy Neymar responded in minute 29 with a well placed shot from the top of the box, that seemed to take forever to crawl beyond the left arm of Croatian goal-keeper Pletikosa – leveling the score in front of the partisan crowd.
