Botanist George Proctor to return to court on Wednesday
Ninety year old consultant botanist George Proctor who is charged with conspiracy to murder his wife is to return to the Home Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Proctor and his 42 year old co-accused, Glenmore Fillington, a driver of Lyn Avenue in Christiana, appeared in court today.
The men\'s case was set for trial but had to be put off after Fillington\'s lawyer Donna McIntosh-Gayle withdrew from the case.
Prosecutor Diahann Gordon Harrison told the court that the prosecution was ready for the trial to proceed.
McIntosh Gayle said she needed a junior lawyer to assist her and subsequently withdrew from the case.
Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh extended the men\'s bail until Wednesday.
When the men return to court, another lawyer will be assigned to represent Fillington and a new trial date will be set.
The Crown is alleging that in 2006 Proctor paid Fillington $90 thousand to murder his 66 year old wife.
It’s alleged that he told Fillington that he was not happy at home and asked him to get someone to murder his wife.
Fillington allegedly got someone to do the job, when divorce was mentioned, Proctor allegedly disagreed with the suggestion saying it was too much trouble because he would have to give his wife half of his assets.
